About Roy Mustang:

Roy Mustang began his journey as a young, exceptionally bright, and naive idealist. He learned alchemy as a young teen and joined the Amestrian Military to serve his beloved Nation. He then went on to be the youngest person to become a State Alchemist before Edward Elric, and was sent to Ishval to take part in the Civil War as a human Weapon for the Government. There, he used his unique flame alchemy to take countless lives with the snap of his fingers. He left Ishval no longer young or naive, and with one goal: To someday become the Fuhrer of Amestris in order to protect those he loved, and to heal his country. He was the youngest ranking Colonel in Amestris, and is regarded both as a War Hero and a formidable State Alchemist.

Roy has cultivated his outwards appearances with great care: to those on the outside, he appears to be a marginally competent worker, hotheaded, and a vain playboy with an ego. In reality, he is a master tactician, silver-tongued, and only slightly lazy - after all, he's got a Nation to run.
